As a wedding photographer and videographer that shoots almost every weekend throughout the entire bay area, I know a thing or two about excellent wedding vendors. I have had first hand experience with all of these fabulous people and recommend them for your event. The details of your wedding day, food, your hair and makeup, flowers, etc I will be photographing a lot of so it makes sense to listen to your photographer when making vendor decisions.
For hair and makeup I really recommend two people, either Carolyn at http://www.swirlsncurls.com in the south bay, or Christal Seville at http://www.artistrytbychristal.com up in San Francisco. Both of these hair and makeup stylists do excellent work and I love when brides go to one of these two MUA’s because they really understand how to make a bride look good in person, as well as, in photos. I really suggest you check them out before either heading to a salon or having a “friend do your makeup”!
For day-of wedding coordinators I can say I have had some awesome events working with Amy Frugoli and her company, twitterpatedweddings.com, as well as Nicole D’Ambra. I am also super excited to be working with Ashley Dicksa creativeeventsbyashley.com. Wedding coordinators are so important to me because the sad fact is, when there is not a wedding coordinator, the photographer has a lot more non-photography stuff to do the day of the wedding, like help with moving the events along so we don’t get behind, etc…So to have someone there who is making sure everything goes smoothly is really helpful in making the couple relaxed, and we usually get better pictures because of it!
More to be added to this list soon!
