Maternity photo shoots are a wonderful way for me to reconnect with my past wedding clients. It’s a totally different experience than the wedding day and a lot more rewarding, simply because I feel like I am on a journey with them through their love for one another. When you can be there for the engagement, wedding day, maternity session, and first baby portrait, it really makes me feel special and a part of something beautiful. No other job seems to be as rewarding and interesting in my opinion so I am truly lucky to be given the honor.
Nami and Ray were married February 22, 2009 at Freedom Hall and Gardens in Santa Clara. We had the opportunity photograph their wedding and we were amazed with this couple the second we met them. They are just the nicest people and so chill. When two sweet people get married, you just have to shed a tear it’s so sweet.
When Nami emailed to tell me they were expecting, I was a little surprised. I felt like I had just shot their wedding and now they were already expecting. Turns out, almost a year had passed and to me it felt like a couple months. It’s true, time flies!
Nami and Ray came over to my home studio for the shoot and I knew I wanted try something different for this shoot. As opposed to using a black backdrop, I opted for bright white seamless paper for a “high key” look, which I have never done for a maternity session. Although I love black, I think the white worked well too.
If you are an expecting Momma and would like a maternity photo shoot in Los Gatos or surrounding cities, drop us a message. We are offering specials for portrait packages in April and we would love to create some art for you!
Below are some of my favorites from the shoot and we look forward to doing the baby’s first portrait soon! Congrats Nami and Raymundo!
