Carole and Joey | Wedding at Church of the Nativity | Menlo Park, CA

As Carole explained to me when we first met, she had heard about me from someone who worked at a bakery. They apparently told her, “she should definitely hire me!” Carole went and checked out my site and decided she liked me work so she gave me a call just a few short weeks before her wedding.

I met Carole with her mom and fell in love with the idea of shooting her wedding! Carole had done some modeling before and was very comfortable in front of the camera. Her and Joey were to be married at the Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park. I had never shot there before and I am glad I finally have. It is one of the nicest Catholic churches I have seen because it is so classic and “small town” looking, while the inside is beautiful and inviting.

From the church, we moved on to a really special and unique place for the reception, Peninsula Building Materials. They have multiple showrooms, however, the one we went to was in Mountain View. Turns out, Joey’s parents own it, so they had their own private location for their reception. Best of all, it’s not a reception hall, it’s a showroom, so there are different tiles and natural stones as the flooring. Each wall of the building has a different theme with different rock and stone patterns ideas, one of which, is a wave made of smooth stones. The inside had a wood burning over and gorgeous warm fireplace.I would love to shoot here again but I don’t think there will be much chance of that unless they open it for more events.

Carole and Joey enjoyed their time with family and friends and are now in Rome! I hope they enjoy looking at these from across the Atlantic!

Phoebe and Chris Wedding Highlights | Villa Montalvo

What an amazing wedding! Phoebe and Chris were married at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga California on October 11, 2009. We did both the photography and videography and even did a same day edit. We headed over to ABC Seafood for the reception and everyone had an amazing time.

Phoebe and Chris are really great people. They really worked with us to come out with so many great photos and this beautiful highlights reel. The only problem was that the officiant did not let us get anywhere near the couple during the ceremony, but luckily we have long lenses! Otherwise, everything was perfect!

All of the getting ready shots were shot with the Canon 5D Mark II, and the ceremony and reception also utilized the Canon XH-A1 and an HV30 for backup. Overall we think these three cameras are wonderful to use together, although it can be a little difficult to match them in post.

Now sit back and enjoy the wedding highlights video of Phoebe and Chris!

Katherine and Efren | Wedding at Holy Cross Church and The Ranch

What a fun filled weekend, shooting two weddings at Golf courses back to back. And it’s November and we had excellent weather. Awesome!

Katherine and Efren’s wedding started off at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown San Jose, where the bride and her family members got ready for the church ceremony. From the hotel, we went to the beautiful Holy Cross Church. From there, a party bus took the entire wedding party to Cinabar in downtown San Jose, where the bridal party had a quick cocktail and posed for some pics. From there, we were off the Ranch Golf Course where a beautifully decorated reception awaited.

Now to say Katherine and Efren are fun would be playing it down way too much! These guys were just a blast to work with and I enjoyed every second of it. I am sad that these two live all the way down in San Diego, but hopefully, we will be seeing them back in the Bay Area soon. Without further ado, lets check out some photos!

Tina and Dan | Wedding at Cinnabar Hills

Tina and Dan were married at the very lovely Cinnabar Hills Golf Club in San Jose, CA on November 6, 2009. Leading up to the wedding I was so impressed with how organized Tina was so I was really looking forward to a smooth evening. And that is the best way to describe it. They day was perfect. No rushing. No worrying. No stress. We did both the photography and videography and had an especially great time doing the bridal party portraits since they were all such fun people. So in less than a week, I have all the edited photos ready to go online and soon we will start the video editing. I really love the fact that I can share these photos with everyone soon after the wedding, while it is still fresh in everyone’s mind.

Even though it was dark outside during the reception, the Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 7D, held up pretty well in low light. I could tell the normal 5D was struggling a bit at ISO 1600, while the Mark II at ISO 1600 looked pretty darn good. It was cool to have all three of these cameras to compare at the same time.

I would like to thank Brittany Dawes, the wedding coordinator at Cinnabar Hills. She was so awesome and easy to work with. She was unobtrusive and did everything she needed to make the party go on without a hitch. She was attentive, listened, and really was working hard. That was so great to see and we appreciate her a ton. Thanks Brittany, you rock!

Enjoy the photos!
