This is an example of our framed engagement photo with signature matte frame. We include this with every wedding package where we do an engagement photo shoot. Normally, the photo is 8×10 within a 16×20, which is made to accommodate the extra wide matte for signing. We also use other sizes from time to time and change it up a bit depending on the couple’s taste, wedding size, and package selection. A black pen is supplied for the signing of the matte.We bring the framed engagement photo with us to your wedding so all you have to do is choose which photo you would like printed. Behind the matte board, there is the original glass for the frame. This way, you can either place the glass over the front to protect the matte and photo, and/or also replace the photo with one from the wedding day and then place the glass over it to protect it as a wedding day souvenir.

Is this Supposed to Replace the Guest Book?

No, this framed engagement photo is not meant to replace a traditional guest book. It is another place for people to sign their well wishes and also serves some other important purposes. For example, weddings taking place in large hotels with multiple ball rooms, having this photo on display will let wedding attendees know which ball room is yours. Also, sometimes people may attend a wedding and not know the couple first hand. This way, they can see what the couple looks like and it offers a glimpse into the personality of the couple. Since the bride and groom are so dressed up and elegant the day of the wedding, the framed engagement photo brings a sense of history and insight into the relationship between the two that are tying the knot because we see them in more casual clothes. Most importantly, an engagement shoot usually takes place at a very special spot that’s important to the bride and groom. This location is usually where the couple met, where the groom proposed, the couple’s favorite getaway place, or some other location with sentimental value and memories attached to it. The location for the engagement shoot is very important in that it reflects the personalities of the couple and this is what the framed engagement photo with signature matte frame is meant to capture.

I am really excited to be shooting Kristy and Christopher’s wedding this weekend at the Martinelli Event Center in Livermore, Ca. I shot Kristy’s sisters wedding a couple years back and now it’s time for Kristy to tie the knot! It is such a special experience for me to shoot the wedding of two sisters. It means a lot to me and really makes me feel closer to the couple because I will see many of the same friends and get to share this special day with her family as well. What a blessing and honor it is capture the beautiful moments of a wedding, both with still and motion cameras. Stay tuned for such cool photos and videos after the wedding!

It was great to be the photographer for Patricia and Johnny. They are a really cool, easy going couple and were so relaxed even though, hours before her wedding, Patricia just graduated from law school. So this was like a combined wedding/graduation party. They celebrated the occassion at the lovely Palmdale Estates, in Fremont California. I have been shooting here a lot lately and like it more and more. I have found some really great ways to light the dancing during the reception and love their low white ceiling for bounce flash!  What’s really great about Palmdale is that they have so many unique spots to take photos and the main house is simply stunning! Patricia and Johnny are big Star Wars fans so what better way to celebrate on your wedding day, than to have Storm Troopers come to your wedding for photo ops! Enjoy some of my favorites.
